Norman's Richmond  Quebec Voting List Circa 1900. This list (typed) was pasted over material in a 1888 bark book. It is very likely a federal voting list for Richmond as Town Hall, Court House and Taylors Hall were written down the side. The list might be for 1896 election as J F Sinnott (Mack Sennett's Dad) was listed and he moved in 1902. (See gif at end of list.) As you can see, the Scots were relatively few in Richmond.

Election 1904 Proclamation of Results for Richmond Wolfe.  This is not the election of the adjacent names, because they voted in GG Gymer's Store in 1904 instead of Taylor's Hall.
Tobin the Liberal got 3787 votes against 2576 for O'Brady the Conservative. Men voted in Halls, schools, stores and even private homes, it seems. Poll number 13 at Windsor Mills was at the "store house of Mr. Dearden opposite River View Hotel." In Richmond that year 507 men were eligible to vote. 371 men voted, 230 to 141 for Tobin the Liberal. Tobin was MP for the area for a long time and he helped Norman get his job on the railroad.Margaret voted for the first time in 1921 and wrote about it in a letter CLICK HERE for that and other woman suffrage info.
