Norman to Margaret

November 9, 1908

La Tuque

Dear Margaret,

I am writing just a line to say I received yours of the 5th and was pleased to hear from you. I have not attempted to go up north since I last wrote you, as I had a bad cough and stayed around the house. If weather permits, I will go tomorrow and will likely be away most of the week. I was sorry to hear that Mrs. Montgomery was so ill. Is it her old trouble?   Well, as you said, I think it is better to have health with no money than have money with no health.

I want you to go to Danville for St. Andrew's whether I am there or not. I would like to go but cannot, it costs too much and I am too poor at present. I suppose you will be celebrating with the children. I will send you a cheque as soon as I get it.

Your loving Husband,
Norman

PS. Keep warm and well in this morrow. And all will be well since the Liberals are in power. "hoot-man"
