Politics was Serious Business to the Nicholsons


So much so, even good friends teased them a bit. Here, I've posted 3 election documents: Hayes was the Conservative Candidate in 1911 election. He lost.  Crombie, Norman's neighbour, ran for the Conservatives  in 1919 and then returned to the Liberals.   Norman died in June 1922 and a letter from December 1921 written by Margaret describes him awaiting the results of the election. Norman was civic minded, right to the end.  No wonder one daughter became a Union Leader, and the other a Commandant of the Red Cross during WW11.
