A note about Peter Mackenzie's re-election bid in 1912! The note is signed J V D'Artois.   Peter Mackenzie was Treasurer for the Quebec Liberals. He married in 1912 and the Nicholsons talk about it in the letters. Norman Nicholson  was involved in all aspects of civic life in Richmond and was a Mason as well. When he passed away the Richmond Times wrote: "one of the most respected citizens of this place has died." Nicholson and D'Artois descendants both settled in Hudson, Quebec years later and two great grandsons were in the same grade, same school and became friends. Quelle coincidence!
